Weaving Wednesday – Mini Zipper Bags

Sewing clothing with hand woven fabric is awesome.

But what to do with those little leftover scraps?  Given the love and work that has gone into the fabric, they can’t just be discarded!

Zip Bags anyone?

I like to make these and give to friends.

I like to include a blessing in each one.  Every time you open the bag you are reminded you are blessed.

You can even find them in my Etsy shop from time to time here.  This one is there right now.

I was going to create a tutorial, but there are literally hundreds already on the internet.  So here is a link to one by Melly Sews with great photos using the method I prefer.

3-D Zip Bags

In looking at zip bag tutorials, I found this one from Crafty Gemini.  They are quick, easy and fun!  Once I started, I just couldn’t stop!  I now have a bunch for the Craft Fair later this fall.  The only change I made was to put the zipper opening at the bottom because the hand woven fabric is so thick.

Do you have a favorite zipper bag pattern? Oh do share!

Happy Creating everyone!
